GEORGE E. LARAMORE, Ph.D, MD
Professor
and Chair
Department of Radiation Oncology
Director
University Cancer Center
University of Washington Medical Center
Dr. Laramore specializes in salivary gland tumors, head and neck cancer,
skin cancer, and neutron radiotherapy.
Dr. Laramore believes in utilizing technological innovations in ways tailored
to the individual patient in order to optimize the treatment of their
cancer. He's most interested in neutron radiotherapy for the treatment
of salivary gland tumors, head and neck cancers, and skin cancer.
Working in the field of physics after graduate school, Dr. Laramore's
interests turned to biology which lead him to medical school. He received
his medical degree in 1976 from the University of Miami, Miami, FL and
then completed his internship and residency training in radiation oncology
at the University of Washington from 1978 to 1980. In 1980 Dr. Laramore
became board certified in Therapeutic Radiology. He was voluntarily recertified
in Radiation Oncology in 2000.
When he isn't working, Dr. Laramore enjoys fishing, swimming, camping,
hiking/climbing, golf, skiing, and scuba diving.
