Dr. James Douglas earned his bachelor of science degree from Ohio State, his masters in science from University of Wisconsin, and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He trained initially as a pediatrician in pediatric oncology and practiced in that field for almost 10 years before retraining in radiation oncology.

"My philosphy of patient care is to involve the patients and their families in the care making decisions and to care for the whole person, which involves not only the physical realm but the emotional and spiritual realms as well," says Dr. Douglas. "I wanted to so something that benefitted others and that I was interested in doing," he says. "I love the science of medicine and enjoy my interactions with those under my care."

Dr. Douglas enjoys skiing, tennis, and music. "However, since I have two adolescents, most of my time away from work is spent doing 'parenting' stuff," he says. Dr. Douglas shares his life with his wife and their teeneaged daughter and son, and a cat, and a dog.
